The loco was built by Alco-Brooks in August of 1917 originally as NKP 2-8-2 Mikado #524 but renumbered in December of 1955 to NKP 965. It was "laid up" (retired) at Fort Wayne in September of 1957 and finally sold for scrap in January of 1962 to M. S. Kaplan. The photo shows its number with the line through it in the storage line at Fort Wayne. This is a Robert Larson photo. |
